However, due to their neurotoxic effects on humans, the rapid and sensitive determination of OPs has become increasingly important. Here, a novel isolated bacterial strain, Klebsiella sp. MP-6, which is isolated from methyl parathion (MP) contaminated soil, is used tocatalyze the hydrolysis of MP to release p-nitrophenol[1]. Then, the product, which is related to the concentration of MP, is detected by a polymeric membrane ion-selective electrode [2]. The anionic responses owe to the extracted and complexed neutral phenols further underwent proton dissociation with concomitant ejection of HX from the membrane interface to the aqueous phase[3].Under the optimized conditions, the linear range is 0.05 - 1 μM in 10-4 M NaOHand the detection limit is 8.2 nM (S/N=3).
