Suicide Disclaimer Doesn’t Work
As we know, university suicide cases has an increasingly growth these years. It is sad to hear such kind of cases. For new students, they thread their way into colleges that they dreamed of going. But once they enter colleges, they choose to end their life. I think it is unacceptable to our society.
So far, universities have asked freshman to sign suicide disclaimer. In my opinion, it is just a way, a virtual way. It doesn’t ensure that students will not suicide. Universities should analysis the reason for suicide, and make an attempt to solve such problems for students. Only they feel comfortable in this environment, they can be happy, so they will not choose extremely ways to end life.
In some extent, there are such reasons for suicide.
First, nowadays, students are lack in the responsibility for society, parents, and the most important people, themselves. They do not know what they mean for their families. And they have less understanding about parents, and hardness for raising themselves.
Second, students do not have an awareness of value for life. Life can ‘t be replaced by anything. If you lose your life, it means losing everything.
Third, it is common cause .College students have no ability to deal with all kinds of relationship. They face plenty of facts: love affairs, employment pressure, family backgrounds and interpersonal problems.
They do not know how to self-control. They can’t understand the difficulties are contemporary and impermanent. They just spend this special time, they can just reach the sky. There is a famous sentence: Today is cruel, tomorrow is cruel, and the day after tomorrow is beautiful, but most people will die in tomorrow evening. This tells us: You just need to do the only thing: toleration.
Suicide is not because that they did not sign suicide disclaimers. So university should consider students’ all kinds of things.
